I swear
I swear
All things here are possessed
Beware!
Don't try and think
Don't stop and stare
Before you know it
Your mind they'll ensnare

There's the books from old lovers
With words bound inside
 That make my bones quiver
When I open them up, spill their guts
The words ring out to me with dire cries
Of people I once loved and cherished
Now only their memories reside
Within the bleak chamber of my heart

I swear
I swear
All things here are possessed
Beware!
Don't turn away and
Don't move a hair
For the specters
Surely know we're here

There's the photos I keep hidden
In the secret spaces below
I should say good riddance
But I can't quite let go
Of the time we used to smile
And laugh our lives away
Hoping all that long while
We could make things last our way
So those images beckon out
Shout out from the basement
And make me want to go about
Splattering clear ‘cross the pavement

I swear
I swear
All the things here are possessed
Beware!
Don't ask me how I know
I just thought I'd share
Let you know the dangers
And let you feel the despair

I still hold the three-eyed hag stone
Given to me by that witch of death
The holes look like hollow sockets of bone
And make me dream of dying
I used to think I could see my future
Through the holes’ prophetic testimonies
Now I know it's phony now I know better
I play with the rough edges I feel
The grooves where her fingers graced
And I can hardly believe it's real
That she loved me in the first place

I swear
I swear
All the things here are possessed
Beware!
Think I'm out of time
I'll hope for your welfare
Just don't look back when I stay
Please don't you dare
